With summer around the corner, it is time to break the stretch mark curse

No one can deny that unsightly stretch marks usually rank up tops on many a women’s list of woes. However, it is possible to treat stretch marks and banish them for good.

Stretch marks are narrow streaks or lines that occur on the surface of the skin. They are the result of the skin suddenly stretching. The middle layer of skin (dermis) breaks in places, allowing the deeper layers to show through. Doctors often refer to stretch marks as stria, striae or, during pregnancy, striae gravidarum.

The abdomen, buttocks, breast area, flanks, thighs, and lower back are the areas of the body most often affected. Heredity plays a crucial role for the emergence of “stretching”, because that determines the elasticity of the skin. Increasing the tension applied to the skin, as in pregnancy, rapid growth of the body in adolescence and large increases in body weight are important factors involved in stretch marks appearance.

All the changes in stretch mark formation result from the degeneration of the collagen in the middle of the dermis (middle skin), which in turn leads to atrophic scarring.

Stretch marks begin as flat red or purple lines, and over time, they appear as slightly depressed white streaks. If this first phase (red color stretch marks) is ignored and allowed to develop into the 2nd and 3rd phases, scarring will probably result. The golden standard is that the earlier ones start dealing with stretch marks, the better the results will be.

In the battle against stretch marks, new methods and procedures continue to surface and they all have different levels of effectiveness.

md:complex Firming-Regen breaks the Stretch Mark curse, thanks to its formulation rich in regenerating and restoring active principles (Organic Silicon, Elastin, Chondroitin Sulfate) that aim to create a new network of connective tissue with better structure that resembles that of the normal skin.

It stimulates the fibroblasts activity in the production of collagen and elastin, strengthening and repairing the dermal matrix.

It also contains firming and antioxidant active principles such as DMAE and vitamin C that enhance skin elasticity, hydration, and luminosity, improving the appearance and texture of the stretch marks.
