Normal Skin

Normal skin is often considered the ideal type because it represents a balance between moisture, oil, and sensitivity. It is characterised by a smooth texture, small and nearly invisible pores, and a consistent tone. Unlike other skin types, it rarely experiences dryness, excessive oiliness, or sensitivity, which makes it easier to care for and maintain. However, having normal skin does not mean it is immune to problems. External factors such as pollution, UV radiation, stress, and aging can still affect its health and appearance.

The skin barrier of normal skin functions efficiently, locking in hydration and protecting against environmental aggressors. It rarely becomes greasy during the day and typically does not experience dry patches. Because of this balance, people with normal skin are less prone to acne, redness, or irritation.

To maintain the health of normal skin, adopting a preventive skincare routine is essential. This includes cleansing to remove impurities, moisturizing to maintain hydration, and daily application of sunscreen to protect against harmful UV rays. Using antioxidants, such as vitamin C, can further protect normal skin from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. While normal skin is relatively low-maintenance, neglecting its care can lead to issues over time, so a consistent routine ensures it remains balanced and healthy.
