Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin is prone to redness, irritation, and discomfort. It reacts easily to triggers such as skincare products, environmental changes, or allergens. Symptoms may include itching, burning, or blotchy patches, and it often feels tight or inflamed. Sensitive skin can be genetic or the result of damage to the skin barrier caused by overuse of harsh products or treatments.

To care for sensitive skin, focus on soothing and strengthening the skin barrier. Opt for products that are fragrance-free and formulated with calming ingredients such as aloe vera, chamomile, or oatmeal. Avoid exfoliants and active ingredients that can irritate the skin, like retinol or acids, unless specifically designed for sensitive skin.

Building a simple skincare routine with minimal but effective products is key. Cleansing with a mild, hydrating cleanser followed by a gentle moisturiser helps maintain hydration and reduce irritation. Sun protection is crucial, as sensitive skin is often more vulnerable to UV damage. Mineral-based sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are less likely to cause reactions. With patience and the right care, sensitive skin can become more resilient and less reactive over time.
