Prepare your skin for late autumn weather changes

  |   all-es, health-beauty

Autumn has arrived along with damaging changes brought about by the weather. Camouflaged in autumn tones of red and ochre, the landscape is so beautiful to see, yet the weather that creates it is so harmful to our skins.

Rapid drops in temperature on top of the havoc caused by summer’s intense sun will leave your skin begging for a much-needed healing and protective routine. It is important to note that in autumn, the weather changes rapidly and unpredictably, and that the colds of winter are inexorably approaching, so it is vital that we prepare our skin for all these weather changes.

The lipid barrier is one of the parts of the skin most affected by the changing of the weather. This barrier oversees the protection of the cutaneous barrier, making it stronger and keeping the natural hydration in the inner layers.

When the dermis dehydrates, this barrier becomes dryer and sensitive, causing itchiness and an uncomfortable feeling. Combined with the dilation and contraction of capillaries that comes with constant temperature drops, you could end up with the appearance of rosacea.

Our advice is simple yet extremely effective. A good hydration both external and internal will keep your skin healthy and in perfect conditions to fight extreme weather changes. It is important to drink at least 2 litres of water every day, and use a hydrating cream such as X:treme Skin Renewal. This will not only massively hydrate your skin, but combined with its cellular renewal properties, will help to renew your damaged skin layers, creating a brand new layer, brighter and stronger.

On the other hand, none of the above advice will be of any use if you do not maintain good skin hygiene. From time to time, use a soft peel such as md:prepeel Beta&AHAs Complex 8% which helps with the elimination of dead skin, moisturises and has antioxidant properties that will enhance any other treatment you use.

Furthermore, and we will never get tired of saying this, it is imperative to use a high SPF sunscreen even in late autumn. Even if the sun is completely hidden by the darkest of clouds, UVA and UVB radiation penetrates your skin barrier promoting premature photo-ageing, dehydration and the appearance of blemishes and skin burns. 3D Moisturizing Sunscreen Protection, a SPF 50+ sunscreen formulated with hydrating and regenerating ingredients such as Niacinamide, Vitamin E or Panthenol will help your immunological system and will decrease skin dryness.

Following these tips will help you improve your skin condition, not only by increasing its beauty and radiance, but by making it healthier.
