Mix&match: perfect cosmetic combinations for your face

  |   all, SKIN CARE

A good and complete beauty routine is made up of several steps and products. If you are not an expert in the field and you have not consulted a professional dermatologist, you may make some mistakes.

Either because the combination of some active ingredients can be harmful to your skin, or because you are not taking advantage of some synergies between ingredients that can greatly benefit your skin.

Last month we reviewed the most popular active ingredients that should never be mixed, and today it is time to talk about those that are beneficial for our skin.

  • Hyaluronic acid and Retinol or Retinoids

If you have started a Retinoid-based treatment, you will surely begin to suffer some effects such as dry skin or peeling of the first layers of the skin. Don’t worry, it’s normal and then you will reap the benefits of this powerful ingredient. But you do have to take hydration into account, and what better active ingredient than Hyaluronic acid?

  • Vitamin C and SPF

Vitamin C and sunscreen make a good duo, especially in the morning. We recommend applying Vitamin C prior to sunscreens.

  • SPF and Retinol or Retinoids

If you are treating your skin with Retinol, using sunscreen in the mornings is a must. Retinol promotes cell renewal, so you need to increase protection against UV rays because the skin is more exposed to its harmful effects. We recommend using a minimum sunscreen of SPF 30.

  • Vitamins A, C and E

The powerful antioxidant ingredients work wonders on your skin, creating a synergy that will make you look better than ever. Among other benefits, these three vitamins help you prevent collagen loss.

  • Retinol and Ferulic Acid

Ferulic acid is a plant-based antioxidant that enhances and boosts the properties of other vitamins and active ingredients, as well as protecting you against the harmful effects of the sun. When combined with Retinoids, a special synergy is created that makes Retinol work much better. While the Retinol works to firm the skin and add radiance, the Ferulic Acid allows the Retinol to further penetrate the skin and promote collagen production.

  • Tranexamic acid and Vitamin C

Tranexamic acid is one of the best allies to fight all types of skin hyperpigmentation, smoothing, brightening and evening skin tone. It prevents the blemish formation while protecting the skin against the harmful effect of UV radiation. Tranexamic acid produces good synergistic effect when combined with Vitamin C, that provides extra antioxidant action and enhances the Tranexamic acid absorption into spots, facilitating the melanin reduction and optimizing results.
